[Outlander Summary] S02E13: Dragonfly in Amber.

The opening scene of Outlander S02E13: Dragonfly in Amber is bring us to Scotland, 1968. Claire bring Brianna back to Scotland to give the last respect to a man who help her during her stay in Inverness with Frank, The Reverend. Every corner of Reverend's house bring Claire so many memories. Roger offer Claire and Brianna to stay at the house instead of drive back to London. [Outlander Summary] S02E12: The Hail Mary.

Claire Fraser Monologue #1: It was hard to believe that these were the same brave Highland warriors who had beaten the British army at Prestonpans and Falkirk, who had marched triumphantly into England. Five months of retreat with not enough food and brutal weather had left them broken and demoralized. Our worst nightmare was coming true and I felt completely helpless in the face of it. They arrive just outside of Inverness and get some rest. Even though Dougal and his men are tired, Jamie still ask him to take a patrol to locate the British army. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: The Jacobite army had moved steadily south during the months since Prestonpans . We had acquired much-needed artillery along the way, taken the English garrison at Carlisle, and successfully occupied Manchester. Despite this, the anticipated sympathetic uprising from the Scottish lowlands and northern England had so far not materialised. We were now encamped in northern England, awaiting further orders from Prince Charles. Prince Charles and his Jacobite Army is in northern England and on their way to conquer London. As usual they're having an argument, this time about rather they should turn back or move forward because there are three British armies that stand between them and London. [Outlander Summary] S02E10: Prestonpans.

Claire Fraser Monologue #1: How many men had I seen killed in war?. This Highlander who had run afoul of a Redcoat patrol was only the latest one. The rebellion Jamie and I had laboured so hard to prevent was upon us. Our only hope was that somehow we could change the outcome. I feared in my heart that history would not be rewritten. That no matter how many battles we might win, victory would remain forever out of reach. How many men had I seen killed in war?. Far, far too many. Jamie is frustrated with the disagreement of their war plan between Prince Charles advisors. Angus is getting bored and starting a silly fight with Lallybroch's men. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: We left Beaufort Castle 100 strong and travelled towards Crieff to join forces with Murtagh and the Lallybroch Fraser's. But our numbers dwindled along the way. Many who resented being ordered by Lord Lovat from their families and farms deserted our ranks. We'd sent Young Simon to persuade them to return with the promise of land when the war was over. It gave them something to fight for, to die for. If it went according to plan, all would meet up in Perth to join the prince's army. Claire and Jamie reunited with Murtagh, Fergus, Douglas and his men, even though Column remained neutral. Douglas express his happiness about Jamie finally join Jacobite army. Jamie ask them to help him training all the men so they ready to join Prince's army. Murtagh has difficult time to teach them even with a simple form a line or how too march. [Outlander Summary] S02E08: The Fox's Lair.

Back in Scotland, Jamie received a letter from his cousin, Jared, that have Jamie name signed along witth Stuart Crest. It's mean all the clan or an individual name pledging loyalty to Charles Stuart. However Jamie never sign it. His cousin forged his signature. Charles has landed in Scotland and gathering his army. Jamie has no choice now except join the rebellion army. Claire suggested they leave the country instead. But, Jamie choose to fight for his family and Scotland, and hoping the change of history along the way. Jamie and Claire go to visit his grandfather, Lord Lovat, to ask support for Jacobite and in two weeks will be meet Murtagh and Lallybroch's men in Kingussie. Claire was taken to charity hospital immediately. Tired emotionally and physically watching Jamie duel with Randall, Claire lost the baby. Even though the baby born dead, Mother Hildegard still baptized and named her Faith. Because of Claire having a high fever, Mother Hildegard call a priest to preparing her soul. Master Raymond sneak into the hospital at night to heal Claire from high fever. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: A white hotness burned deep in my bones. I knew what it was. Puerperal fever. The baby had come, but part of the placenta had not. Murtagh is not happy when Jamie tells him he withdraw from the duel with Randall . He's more upset when Jamie didn't give him a clear reason why. Receive an information about The king is on a crusade to root out practitioners of the black arts from Paris, Claire warn Master Raymond and tell him to leave the city. Raymond say she shouldn't be worry, it happened before but later they all freed. Claire convince him it's different this time. At home, Jamie makes Claire promise if their plan to stop the war fail and anything happen to him, Claire have to go back through the stones, back to Frank. Having their original plans changed put Murtagh upset and confuse, so Jamie decided it's time to tell him the truth about Claire. The next day Jamie and Fergus go to Le Havre harbour to mix the fake smallpox potion Claire make with the wine supply at Comte's warehouse. [Outlander Summary] S02E05: Untimely Resurrection.

Claire Monologue #1: I hadn't noticed the noise of the clock before that evening, but in that moment, each annoying tick filled my head, reminding me that Jamie wasn't there. After our dinner party disintegrated into a brawl, the gens d'armes had come and arrested everyone. But it was all a misunderstanding. Alex Randall hadn't raped Mary Hawkins, and Jamie had nothing to do with any of it. Because of the incident at dinner , Jamie and Murtagh were taken by police for investigation. [Outlander Summary] S02E04: La Dame Blanche.

Comte St.Germain approach Jamie (accompany by Claire) while he's having a chess game with Joseph Duverney in Versailles Palace. Claire leave Jamie to his game and suddenly got choked up with something she drink. She's having a hard time to breath. Jamie and Claire have their suspicious it's St.German doing, but they don't have proof. Jamie has an idea to host a dinner where Duke of Sandringham and Prince Charles are invited. He's hoping Prince Charles will make a mistake in front of the Duke and later withdrawal from the Jacobite rebellion fund. Before agree with the plan, Claire finally tells Jamie Jack Randall is still alive. Claire visit Master Raymond store, asking if he any chance sell bitter cascara to St. German, because of her sudden ill that almost cause her lost the baby. [Outlander Summary] S02E03: Useful Occupations and Deceptions.

Jamie has been busy between manage Jared's wine business & try to hold the meeting that Prince Charles demand with Joseph Duverney. When they having a tea and card play a Louise's, Mary Hawkins revealed where she come from. Claire immediately remember why Mary Hawkins name sounds familiar to her. She's Frank's direct ancestor. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: Somewhere in the back of my mind I must have known. If Jack Randall had really died at Wentworth Prison, he obviously could not later wed Mary Hawkins and sire Frank's direct ancestor. And in that case, Frank himself would never exist. Perhaps I hadn't allowed myself to think about it until now, but I was faced with the terrible knowledge that Frank's very existence now depended on Jack living for at least another year. [Outlander Summary] S02E02: Not in Scotland Anymore.

Jamie having a nightmare about Randall when he's sleeping at night. As a loving wife, Claire try to comfort him. Claire also need some adjustment to run Jared's big house that have several maids and guards. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: Running a great house in Paris had proved more complicated than I'd ever imagined. Fortunately, Jared had selected his servants with care, so we had no worries regarding their trustworthiness. Even after several weeks, Paris itself remained an endless source of fascination. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: I wished I were dead. And if I'd kept my eyes shut, I could have almost touched the edges of oblivion. But I'd made a promise and had to keep it.
