Claire Fraser

Claire Fraser, who was born as Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp is a British woman and worked as a nurse for British soldier during World War II. Claire was adopted by her uncle, Lambert Beauchamp, an archeologist, when both her parents died in an accident. Through his uncle, she met a historian named Frank Randall and married him later in 1937.

The two had to separate during World War II because they both served England. Claire as a nurse on the battlefield and Frank as a MI6 officier. After the war ended in 1945, the two decided to have a second honeymoon in Scotland, where their lives would change forever.

For two days in Inverness, Scotland, Frank and Claire spent time visiting historical places like Castle Leoch. One night Frank wanted to visit a place called Craigh na Dun, surrounded by standing high stones, which are usually used as a ritual place for ancient Celtic ritual.

Claire returned the next day because she was attracted to a blue flower plant that she hadn't had time to observe the night before. Being in the middle of Craigh na Dun, Claire heard a strange buzzing sound. She then touched one of the stone and suddenly woke up in 1743.

Portrayed by Caitriona Balfe.
