[Outlander Summary] S01E16: To Ransom a Man's Soul.

After Jamie surrender himself to Randall, he asked him to pay his debt. Before Randall pay his debt, he heard noises from corridor. The source is coming from the door Claire left unlocked. When Randall try to open it, the cattle break the door and hit Randall unconscious. Murtagh, Angus, and Rupert rescue Jamie from his cell. Claire anxious waiting for them on the road. She is in shock seeing Jamie condition, full of wounds and hallucination. Jamie is taken to a monastery, their temporary shelter. Afraid Jamie will be crippled for life, Claire determine to set his injured hand back. As Jamie beloved wife, Claire wants to know what Randall did to him. He simply said "Too much. And not enough." [Outlander Summary] S01E15: Wentworth Prison.

Jamie and Taran are in the line waiting to be hung. Jamie fight the guards when his name called to be executed. Randall suddenly appear and ask guards to stop Jamie execution. They escort him to dungeon cell. Claire finally got an access to the warden to find information about Jamie. Claire sigh a little bit relieve when the warden tell her Jamie execution has been granted a temporary stay for a little while. Angus and Rupert collects some information from Wentworth workers while playing dice. They know the time when is the warden having his evening meal and his habit to read the bible. That is enough information for Claire. Randall visit Jamie in his cell and burn Jamie's petition of complaint against him. He play with Jamie's mind ask him to surrender and he can choose how he want to leave this world. Instead of surrender, Jamie choose to fight back. Claire only plan is to find Jamie immediately. She refuse Ian to tag along because he's been hurt and insist to find Jamie alone. [Outlander Summary] S01E13: The Watch.

The group of men who show up in Lallybroch are the watchmen that Jenny and Ian pay for protection from the redcoats and other raiding clans. Jenny introduce Jamie as her cousin. Jamie furious about the watch present but Jenny defend she have no better choice while Jamie away to protect their estate and tenants. Claire ask Jamie to not provoke the watchmen. Taran, the watchmen leader, try to dig into Jamie background. Ian and Jamie tells stories of their time together in France. It turns out Taran was in the army as well. One of Taran's men set the hay in fire because Jamie can't keep his mouth shut. They get into the fight. See how Jamie fight, Taran offer Jamie to join him. Curious about the time Claire original came from, Jamie asked a lot of things. They're arrive at Lallybroch with a little bit of misunderstanding about Jenny's oldest son. Jenny got upset when Jamie accuse her to have Jack Randall's baby. The truth is its Ian Murray, one of Jamie's friends when he's in France. Need to know what really happened, Jamie ask Jenny to tell the truth when Randall drag her into their house. Claire once again give her opinion on this family matter, and Jamie doesn't like it. Ian change the conversation topic hoping to change the tense of atmosphere in the room. Claire and Jenny didn't have a good start either. Claire and Geillis are taken to underground prison or what the warden call it a thieves' hole. They both keep blaming each other for the arrest. Claire say it's Laoghaire who arrange the letter tell her to go to Geillis house. Geillis eventually admit it, she poison her husband so she can marry Dougal. Standing in front of judges and crowded room, they are both accused for the crime of witchcraft. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: There were no familiar faces in the crowd, none of my friends from Castle Leoch. My knowledge of witch trials told me that the accused rarely walked free. Claire sigh a little bit relieve when Ned Gowan show up in the room. Ned give an argument that the trial itself is illegal because the witchcraft act was repealed by the House of Lords in 1735. Murtagh inform Jamie The Duke of Sandringham has arrived to take counsel with Colum. Jamie wondering if The Duke can help him lift the price of his head. Claire ask them to not trust him because he's the close ally to Black Jack. The lawyer, Ned Gowan, give a legal advise to Jamie regarding his chance to get a pardon for a crime he didn't commit. Ned offer to draw a petition of complaint accusing Randall of crimes against the Scottish people. Claire came to find Laoghaire in the kitchen and confront her about the ill wish. Claire slap Laoghaire when the young girl insult her. Laoghaire promise Claire that one day Jamie Fraser will be hers. Claire surprise when Laoghaire tell her it was Geillis who sold the ill wish to her. Expect an explanation from Geillis, Claire find her in the middle of woods doing some kind "witch" ritual. Back in to 20th century, Frank is in police station expecting news about his missing wife. The detective who working on the case say they don't have any clue about his wife. The detective only theory is Claire wasn't taken against her will. Together with Reverend Wakefield, Frank work on every possibility about what happened to Claire. A woman approach Frank at the bar tell him she recognize the highlander on pamphlet. Turn out she's a fraud and just want the reward. Frank become violent when he's found out he's been lied to. Reverend Wakefield suggest he go back to Oxford and start a new life. When Jamie and Claire on the picnic, Jamie's friend Hugh Munro show up and give him news that there's a witness who can prove his innocence. It's Jamie and Claire's wedding day. This episode have several flashback scene. Both of Claire marriage to Frank and Jamie are started in spontaneous or in sudden way. Frank and Claire getting married in register office on their way to meet Frank's parents in a restaurant for the first time. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: You forget your life after awhile...the life you had before. Things you cherish and hold dear are like pearls on a string. Cut the knot, they scatter across the floor, rolling into dark corners, never to be found again. So you move on. And eventually you forget what the pearls even looked like. Or at least you try. Concern about Claire well being, lieutenant Jeremy Foster take her to meet his commander at Brockton. Dougal come along with them. Claire is welcome by the brigadier general, Sir Oliver Lord Thomas, and join him and his men for lunch. There's a tension interaction between Dougal and Lord Thomas that makes Dougal has to leave the room. Claire starting to plan her escape. When she play with children outside the Castle Leoch , she will left breadcrumbs on her escape path. For a person from 20th century, seeing a 18th century highlander gathering is fascinated for Claire. And she's actually enjoy the festive. Claire Randall Monologue #1: The hunting game was more than a pleasant diversion. It allowed me to reconnoiter the terrain around the castle without suspicion. So far I had found at least two possible escape routes, and left breadcrumbs to mark my way to freedom. The victory day celebrations in London and Paris far exceeded the gathering of the Mackenzie clan in terms of sheer size, but this was something different... simple joy, unencumbered by the trauma of war or the exhaustion of its end. The episode begin with a flashback of Frank drop off Claire to train station for her next assignment during WWII. Frank try to pull some string to put Claire in safe position, but Claire doesn't want that. Frank makes Claire to promise to return to him safely. Back in the 18th century, Claire having some sort of hallucination where she tell Mrs. Fitz the truth about herself, and it didn't end well. For the next few days there will be a MacKenzie clan gathering, an event where all MacKenzie men in highland come to Castle Leoch and pledge an oath to the clan. Claire Randall Monologue #1: If I could get in Colum and Dougal's good graces, perhaps I could win my release and begin to make my way back to Frank. Claire Randall Monologue #1: The last time I was here, Frank and I simply took the car. But after spending two days and nights jolting along on a horse, I knew I'd never find my way back, not unless I convinced these people to help me in some way. When they arrive in Castle Leoch, Claire immediately convince she's not in the 20th century anymore. A woman named Mrs. Fitzgibbons welcome these highlanders men. Jamie introduced Claire to her. As a sassenach (not to mention from the future), Mrs. Fitzgibbons ask Claire many question when she's starting talking about Jamie injury.
