[Outlander Summary] S02E10: Prestonpans.


Claire Fraser Monologue #1:

How many men had I seen killed in war?. This Highlander who had run afoul of a Redcoat patrol was only the latest one.

The rebellion Jamie and I had laboured so hard to prevent was upon us. Our only hope was that somehow we could change the outcome.

I feared in my heart that history would not be rewritten. That no matter how many battles we might win, victory would remain forever out of reach.

How many men had I seen killed in war?. Far, far too many.

Jamie is frustrated with the disagreement of their war plan between Prince Charles advisors. Angus is getting bored and starting a silly fight with Lallybroch's men. To get a better plan, Jamie asking Dougal to take a measure of the marshland between their camp and the British troops to find out if the ground can support a man on horseback and infantry.

Prince Charles praise Dougal courage and happy with the new knowledge they gather from Dougal act. Claire keep herself busy by commanding a field hospital she build. She train and give order to women so they ready to treat wounded soldiers. And for Fergus, she give order to keep the kettle fires burning, which Fergus complain as women's work.

At night, Fergus bring a young man who is the son of land owner where British army camp. He tells Claire about a small and hidden trail that can be useful for Highland troops. Prince Charles decide to use this information to attack the British army.


Back in field hospital, Claire and the women has been busy taking care of wounded soldiers, both from British and highlander side. One of the Lallybroch's men, Kincaid, is dead, and Angus bringing a wounded Rupert to Claire, demand an instant caring from her. Worry about Rupert, Angus forgot his own wound from canon blast. Until it's too late for Claire to save him.

Like every war, even with their little victory has a price.

Claire and Geillis are taken to underground prison or what the warden call it a thieves' hole. They both keep blaming each other for the arrest. Claire say it's Laoghaire who arrange the letter tell her to go to Geillis house. Geillis eventually admit it, she poison her husband so she can marry Dougal. Standing in front of judges and crowded room, they are both accused for the crime of witchcraft. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: There were no familiar faces in the crowd, none of my friends from Castle Leoch. My knowledge of witch trials told me that the accused rarely walked free.
