[Outlander Summary] S02E11: Vengeance Is Mine.


Claire Fraser Monologue #1:

The Jacobite army had moved steadily south during the months since Prestonpans. We had acquired much-needed artillery along the way, taken the English garrison at Carlisle, and successfully occupied Manchester.

Despite this, the anticipated sympathetic uprising from the Scottish lowlands and northern England had so far not materialised.

We were now encamped in northern England, awaiting further orders from Prince Charles.

Prince Charles and his Jacobite Army is in northern England and on their way to conquer London. As usual they're having an argument, this time about rather they should turn back or move forward because there are three British armies that stand between them and London.

While Jamie is busy with war plan, Claire give medical care to villagers. Prince Charles desire to march to London only receive Jamie support. One of Prince's general afraid of Jamie influence to the Prince decided to get rid of him. O'Sullivan order Jamie and his men to proceed to Inverness.

On their way to Inverness, Jamie and his men got attacked by redcoats. When they try to escape, Rupert got shot on his eye. So they need to stop at small abandoned church. The redcoats got caught up with them and Claire offer herself as a bargain for their freedom.


Claire Fraser Monologue #2:

It didn't take long to lose my sense of direction as we rode through the night.

I knew I ought to be leaving some sort of sign for him to follow, but unfortunately, I was short of bread crumbs.

As soon as the redcoats leave, Jamie and Murtagh follow them immediately. When Claire and redcoats arrive in Crich to take a short break, Claire saw a wanted poster for Jamie. The next morning they leaving for Bellmont instead of Haslemere. Claire secretly pass the information to Jamie's friend, Hugh Munro, when they meet on the street.

Imagine Claire surprise when she find out the owner of Bellmont House she will be living in is The Duke of Sandringham. The British army has their suspicious of The Duke of Sandringham for being a Jacobite, so they have troops around his house. Sandringham offer Claire a deal she will have a man pass a note to Jamie where she is and in return he will escape with them.

Claire write a letter for Jamie that must be deliver to Hugh. She also surprise seeing Mary Hawkins stray in the castle. More surprise when she catch Sandringham's servant birthmark that look the same with her attacker in Paris. It turn out it was Sandringham behind the attack.

Jamie successfully get in the house and save Claire & Mary Hawkins. When Murtagh heard Sandringham is the one who responsible, he pay his debt on spot.

[Outlander Summary] S01E11: The Devil's Mark.

Claire and Geillis are taken to underground prison or what the warden call it a thieves' hole. They both keep blaming each other for the arrest. Claire say it's Laoghaire who arrange the letter tell her to go to Geillis house. Geillis eventually admit it, she poison her husband so she can marry Dougal. Standing in front of judges and crowded room, they are both accused for the crime of witchcraft. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: There were no familiar faces in the crowd, none of my friends from Castle Leoch. My knowledge of witch trials told me that the accused rarely walked free. Claire sigh a little bit relieve when Ned Gowan show up in the room. Ned give an argument that the trial itself is illegal because the witchcraft act was repealed by the House of Lords in 1735.
