[Outlander Summary] S03E01: The Battle Joined.


The battle of Culloden is finally happen and the Jacobite army are lose just like what the history written. Jamie duel Jonathan Randall one by one and have his revenge at last. Wounded, weak, and cold, Jamie lie on the mud. He was taken by Rupert to the abandoned house along with other hurt highlander.

Claire and Frank arrive in Boston in 1948 and take a look around their new house. After spending 3 years in 18th century, it need some adjustment for Claire with all the modern equipment. She meet a new friend, Millie Nelson, who willing to help and accompany her. Claire meet with Frank's boss and have a light argument about politics and women role in society.

Finding herself enjoying the new environment America has offered, Claire tell Frank she would like to apply for citizenship. Frank reject the idea knowing the reason it's because Claire still attach to the past and not because it's something she really wants to do.


The redcoats found where the highlander hide and start to execute them under the watch of a commander named Lord Melton. When it's Jamie turn, Lord Melton step in and stop the execution when he heard Jamie state his full name.

John William Grey, a 16 years old boy, who Jamie spared his life and owed him a debt of honor is Lord Melton younger brother. Melton secretly send Jamie to Lallybroch in a small wagon filled with hay.

Back in current time, Claire give birth to baby girl and name her Brianna.

It's Jamie and Claire's wedding day. This episode have several flashback scene. Both of Claire marriage to Frank and Jamie are started in spontaneous or in sudden way. Frank and Claire getting married in register office on their way to meet Frank's parents in a restaurant for the first time. Claire Fraser Monologue #1: You forget your life after awhile...the life you had before. Things you cherish and hold dear are like pearls on a string. Cut the knot, they scatter across the floor, rolling into dark corners, never to be found again. So you move on. And eventually you forget what the pearls even looked like. Or at least you try. Claire was taken to charity hospital immediately. Tired emotionally and physically watching Jamie duel with Randall, Claire lost the baby. Even though the baby born dead, Mother Hildegard still baptized and named her Faith. Because of Claire having a high fever, Mother Hildegard call a priest to preparing her soul.
